|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Students acquire basic knowledge of open channel hydraulics and hydraulics of water management structures. Student will learn to apply this knowledge of hydromechanics on unsteady flow solutions in channels and natural rivers. They acquire basic knowledge of the design of particular elements of hydraulic constructions and their proper and optimal shaping.|
|• Unsteady open channel flow, oscillation, translation and impact waves
• Steady outflow from reservoirs, filling and emptying of reservoirs.
• Weirs, capacity computations, designing dimensions, and shape.
• Hydraulic jump, its characteristics and structure.
• Energy damping under weir structures, design of a stilling basin.
