Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students gain view on electric product placing on the market. They understand basic theoretical, technical and legal aspects of normalization, metrology and testing. They know the requirements of electrical devices on the market. Students gain view on legislation in electrical engineering. They are also able to present their prouct, business and themselves.
Prerequisites and co-requisites: none
Course contents:
Placing electrical products on the EU market. Legislative requirements - applicable laws, government regulations; CE marking. Organization of standardization, metrology and testing services in Slovakia. Technical standardization - technical standards, standardization in Slovakia and in the world. Metrology - basic terms of metrology, scientific and legal metrology, metrology in Slovakia and in the world. Testing - conformity assessment, authorization, accreditation, testing laboratories, their competence and accreditation. Legislative requirements of electrical products, electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility. Life cycle in electrical engineering - development, testing, production, costs. Intellectual property law - copyright law, patent law. Presentation of products - advertising and creation of advertising campaigns. Company profile - public relations, presentation objectives. The rules of social behavior, business etiquette, personal image.
