Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student will get the basic knowledge concerning the probability theory and descriptive statistics including random variables, their distributions and parameters, theory of pointwise and interval estimations, testing of statistical hypotheses , correlation and regression analysis of empirical samples. After completion of the course the student should be able to analyze and process files in real statistical data.

Course contents:
- Introduction to the probability theory.
- Descriptive statistics.
- Random variables, their distributions and parameters.
- Discrete and continuous random variables distributions.
- Pointwise and interval estimations.
- Testing of statistical hypotheses.
- Random vectors, correlation and regression analysis.
- Statistical analysis of measurement samples.
