|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|The student will acquire basic knowledge of electricity and magnetism, mechanical and electromagnetic waves, quantum physics and nuclear physics.|
|Prerequisites and co-requisites:||none|
|Electrostatic field in vacuum and in a dielectric. Direct electric current. Magnetic field in vacuum and in a material. Electromagnetic induction. Alternating electric currents. Maxwell's equations. Mechanical and electromagnetic waves. Introduction to the quantum physics. Atomic nucleus.|
|Recommended or required reading:|
|Planned learning activities and teaching methods:||The subject consists of lectures and seminars. The lectures are oriented at
explaining the theoretical bases and the seminars at solving problems.
|Assesment methods and criteria:||The student must pass two mid-term written examinations (2 x 5% of points) and|
a final written examination (90 % of points).
The examination consists of basic theoretical questions, more complex
theoretical questions and solving of problems. A prerequisite to the
examination is active presence at the seminars and successful passing of a
given number of electronic tests. These tests are of the areas of physics which
are the subject of the examination but at a high school level.
