|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|After finishing of the subject the student will understand the basic principles of computational intelligence (soft computing) as: fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks and evolutionary algorithms. He will be able to apply these approaches in solving practical tasks in the control engineering area. He will be able to implement these approaches in controller design, robust control design, control algorithm design, modelling of nonlinear dynamic systems, static optimisation, logistic tasks etc.|
|Prerequisites and co-requisites:||none|
|1. Computational Intelligence, overview.
2. Fuzzy logic, principle.
3. Using fuzzy logic in conrol, fuzzy regulation.
4. Fuzzy supervisory control, fuzzy adaptation.
5. Artificial neural networks (ANS), overview.
6. Using ANS in modelling of nonlinear dynamic systems.
7. Using ANS in process control.
8. Genetic Algorithms (GA).
9. Using GA in process control.
10 Using GA in static optimisation, other tasks.
|Recommended or required reading:|
|Planned learning activities and teaching methods:||1. Presentations (theory, applications, examples, simulations, animations, videos).
2. Laboratory excercises (application programming in the Matlab/Simulink environment).
|Assesment methods and criteria:||Three tests during the semester: 30 points, laboratory excercises: 11x2=22 points, exam: 48 points (sum: 100 points). Additional 10 points for a voluntary project.|
