Assesment methods:
The students write 2 written tests during the semester. They write also tests at the beginning of laboratory verifying the readiness to practice. They write reports of the individual assignments. The students have to pass oral exam. The final rating is calculated as follows: 10% tests from the laboratory, 30% reports, 30% written tests, 30% oral exam. The students have to pass oral exam. The final rating will be determined in accordance with rules established by the study rules STU.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students have become familiar with the principles of development mathematical models of basic types of processes in chemical and food technology. They are able to use models for the simulation of dynamic and static behaviour of processes. Students can work with the programming tool Matlab - Simulink.
 
Course contents:
Introduction to process modelling, approaches to modelling, types of mathematical models. Static and dynamic mathematical models of basic types of processes in chemical and food technology: tanks, mixers, various types of heat exchangers, continuous stirred tank reactors. Simulation of the static and dynamic behaviour of selected processes in chemical and food technology using the simulation software MATLAB - Simulink.
