Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student acquires knowledge on basics of theory of color, colorimetry and evaluation of color differences and will be able to utilize this knowledge in survey and evaluation of status of objects of heritage
 
Prerequisites and co-requisites: none
 
Course contents:
Light and color, physical principles of visual sensation, photometry
Vision and color vision, origin of visual sensation, psychophysical attributes of color, color vision deficiency
Objective measurement of color: colorimetry, colorimetric color spaces, colorimeters
Color differences
Color Order Systems
Additive and subtractive color synthesis
Colorants, relation of chemical structure and color, classification of colorants
Color photography
Properties and evaluation of color image
Degradation of colorants and color layers, bleaching
Case studies of application of color theory and colorimetry in analysis of objects of cultural heritage
