Course contents:
1.) Origin and format of information. Types and categories of information. Systematisation of document of information and their availability. 2.) Archiving of information. Library, firm and centres of information. Systems of evidence, catalogues. World wide web. Structure of database centres, possibilities of their using. 3.) Primary and secondary source of information, their availability, pattern of looking for individual information, informative investigation, retrospective research. 4.) Primary sources of information. Books, journals, abstract books, patents, catalogues, literature of firms. 5.) Secondary source of information. Abstract journals, their indexes and work with them. 6.) Structure and position of Chemical Abstracts, Current Contents and SCI. Their importance and use in obtaining of information. 7.) Information on electronic medium. CA Search, CCOD, SCI. 8.) On-line information, data on www. Public and exclusive database, searching service. 9.) Strategy and tactic of research. Research aimed at concrete fact, investigative, patent, retrospective. 10.) Work with personal computer, programme, starting with research, archiving of results. Making of own profile in CCOD. 11.) Research on PC in CCOD of theme studied, cooperation with programme and database, export of data into database. Processing of research obtained. 12.) Electronic form of preparation and publication of manuscript, electronic journals. 13.) Practical letting of task for searching in SCHK, CVTI, University Library.
