Course contents:
1.Processes and equipments of the Silicate Industry (allowance 0/0)
 
a.1. Silicate industry, significance, principle of production in silicate industry, ecology, material and energy aspects of silicate industry.
b.2. The basic Machines and Equipment of the Silicate Industry, technological operations for mechanical preparation of raw materials in silicate industry.
c.3. Glass Melting Technology, process of glassmaking, preparation of batches, melting process, forming, cooling. Glass and network raw materials, bubble additives, molten additives, color additives, cullet.
d.4. Base of glassmaking, physical and physic-chemical processes, fusion (dissolution) of solid components in the primary melt, refining of molten (bubbling) glass, homogenization of molten glass.
e.5. Properties of molten glass --molten glass, viscosity, surface tension, density, bulk density, the ability to crystallization, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity.
f.6. Glass furnaces, types, regenerators, recuperators, thermal processes of the glassmaking, thermal efficiency of the glass melting process, environmental considerations of glass manufacture.
g.7. Inorganic binders: Definition, classification, basic characteristics.
h.8. Raw materials for the production of Portland cement. Theory of calculation of raw mixture. Clinkerisation by dry process along the kiln line with short rotary kiln and equipped with dispersion heat exchangers.
i.9. Kiln devices for pyroprocessing of lime and clinker, conditions of heat transfer and the efficiency of kiln aggregates, analysis of heat exchange conditions in the rotary kiln.
j.10. Manufacture processes in the technology of ceramics, preparation of the mixtures, forming, drying, and firing.
k.11. Tunnel and Chamber kilns for firing stoneware, kilns for firing refractory materials.
