Course contents:
1.Electrochemistry (allowance 10/14)
a.Electrolytic dissociation (ionization). Electric conductivity of electrolytes. Molar conductivity. Transport numbers. Theory of strong electrolytes.
b.Chemical equilibrium in electrolyte solutions. Degree of dissociation (ionization). Dilution law. Buffers. Heterogeneous equilibrium - solubility constant.
c.Galvanic cells. Electrode potential and cell potential. Thermodynamics of galvanic cells. Types of electrodes. Diffusion potential. Concentration cells with and without transference. Polarization of electrodes.

2.Chemical kinetics and catalysis (allowance 12/12)
a.Rate of chemical reaction. Elementary reactions. First-order reactions. Second-order and higher-order reactions. Determination of the reaction order of the simple and elementary reactions.
b.Complex reactions. Reactions close to equilibrium (opposing), parallel and consecutive reactions.
c.Temperature dependence of reaction rate. Theory of activated complex, collision theory.
d.Theory of homogeneous catalysis. Autocatalysis.
e.Chain reactions. Photochemical reactions. Diffusion.

3.Colloid chemistry (allowance 4/0)
a.Gibbs adsorption isotherm. Adsorption on solid phase boundary.
b.Colloid state. Distribution functions of polydisperse systems. Surface energy and surface free energy.
