Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The subject aims to pick up the threads of selected chapters on physical chemistry, knowledge of which was gained by a student in preceding semesters, to deepen its' comprehension and provide a student with a superstructure of further knowledge. Additional topics in the domain of physical organic chemistry are open, putting an emphasis on a practical aspect.

Course contents:
The subject picks the threads of selected chapters on physical chemistry, knowledge of which was gained by a student in preceding semesters, with the aim to deepen its' comprehension and provide a student with a superstructure of further knowledge. Additional topics in the domain of physical organic chemistry are open, putting an emphasis on a practical aspect.

The subject topics: Introduction to Structure and Models of Bonding; Thermodynamics and Kinetics; Steric and Conformational Properties of Organic Molecules; Broensted Acidity and Basicity; Nucleophilicity and Electrophilicity; Solvents; Crystalline Racemates

Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The seminar is focusing on interpretation of various subjects of physical organic chemistry. Some topics are associated with excercises being solved by students.
 
Assesment methods and criteria: Students are grated as follows: A 46-50 points, B 41-45 points, C 37-40 points, D 32-36 points, E 28-31 points.
 
Language of instruction: Slovak, English
 
Work placement(s): There is no compulsory work placement in the course unit.
