Course contents:
1.Chirality (general concept) (allowance 6/4)
a.Phenomena of chirality, biological properties of optical antipods, selektívna synthesis of enantiomers and diastereomers, respectively. Kinetic resolution of eantiomers in asymmetric reaction.
b.Asymmetric synthesis: substrate selectivity, product selectivity, concept of stereodifferentiation and double control stereoselectivity.
c.Stereoselective synthetic strategies: chiron approach, template synthesis, asymmetric synthesis.

2.Principles of selected asymmetric reactions (allowance 12/12)
a.Additions to polar unsaturated bonds (1,2 , 1,3 asymmetric induction, models of TS).
b.Asymmetric epoxidation (Sharpless, Jacobssen Katsuki, Shi).
c.Asymmetric dihydroxylation, aminohydroxylation.
d.Asymmetric aldol and ene reactions (Zimmerman Traxler TS).

3.Total syntheses (allowance 6/8)
a.Total syntheses of natural compounds (pheromones, inhibitors enzymes, cytotoxic compounds).
