Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim of the subject is to offer information on terrain and experimental surveys in hydrology. Students will obtain knowledge on methods of experimental measurements and evaluation of basic hydrological characteristics -- discharges, precipitation, evaporation, transpiration, evapotranspiration and groundwater levels, and applied instruments and technical equipment. They will obtain knowledge on measurements and separation of runoff components using indicator and isotopes methods, measurement of sediment yields, soil moisture, soil characteristics, snow depth and snow water equivalent. They will learn about proposals and establishment of experimental fields and areas.
Course contents:
• Field and experimental measurements of -- discharges, precipitation, evaporation, transpiration, evapotranspiration and groundwater levels
• Separation of runoff components using indicator and isotopes methods
• Measurements of soil moisture and soil characteristics
• Measurement of sediment yields and sediment regimes
• Measurements of snow depth and water snow equivalent
• Design of experimental fields and areas
• Methods of evaluation of quality of terrain and experimental measurements
