|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Students will be acquainted with principles of the election and design of the central heating systems in building structures and their particular components according to the programme of rationalization of fuels and energy consumption, especially heat sources -- boiler-houses, heat transfer stations, elements of heating systems and their practical applications in the heating technology.|
| Principles of the theory of the indoor environment (IE). Analysis of factors of the thermal, humidity and aerodynamic conditions of the IE. Thermal comfort. Simplified model of thermal balance for the IE.
Need for heat and energy for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, heating-up the warm service water and technology use. Design of heat load. Connection values. Calculation and design of conventional heating appliances. Specific heat power at a linear and logarithmic temperature difference, coefficients for correction.
Diagrams of connection of the boiler-houses for heating and heating-up of warm service water, control of boiler-houses for solid, liquid, gaseous fuel and biomass. Calculation and design of particular components of the heat source -- low pressure and medium pressure boiler-house for solid, liquid, gaseous fuel and electric power.
Water systems and vapour systems of central heating, division, types, characteristics and applications. Combined heating systems.
Representation of the machinery in projects of central heating. Accessories of heat sources and heating systems, security equipment, recirculation pumps, valves, piping and water treatment.
Heat transfer stations (HTS), division and schemes of connections. Calculation and design of components of the HTS.
Energy and fuel consumption. Payment of costs for heating and heating-up of warm service water. Energy economy of the heating of buildings and certification of heat sources.
