Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The goal is to become familiar with the basics of modern techniques and technology processes and the impact of external factors (degradation processes) on electrical /power electric components and equipment. Students obtain basic knowledge of the technology used in the production and accumulation of electricity, focusing also on the exploitation of solar energy and regarding the production of equipment used in power engineering systems.
 
Course contents:
In the subject, students learn basic modern technological processes for the production and processing of materials, electrical components and equipment for power engineering. Subject is dedicated to the following areas: Plasma and its use in technology, utilization of energy beams (electron beam). Selected technological processes in power production. Magnetic circuits, properties and exploitation of magnetic materials. Electric and magnetic circuits, windings and insulation systems. Diagnosis and degradation processes of energy facilities.
Fundamentals of solar technologies for the use of photovoltaic and photothermal conversion and electricity storage.
