Assesment methods:
Active participation in the exercises, processing of elaborates of practical and calculation exercises, from which it is possible to obtain a total of 40 points. These points would be add to final test points from which you can get up. to 60 points. To categorize of result from A to FX would be used actually valid published scale. Exam is written, but the examiner may extend it to an oral exam, and on this base he can modify the test result adequately to the oral-exam result.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student obtains knowledge in field of electrical sign, schematics, types of them, how to read and reciprocally transform them. Student to get know basic terms and types of solution of all electrical parts of all types of power plant. Concretely would be solved design of main schematics – connection of generated electrical power from used technology based on primary energy source by means of electrical generator, generator power switch, block transformer, high voltage substation, to “grid terminal” – ends of output of overhead power lines. Next is solved ways of supplying of typical types of electrical appliances in self - consumption of power plant – there is dividing groups for different types of power supply needs. There are different groups of sources like initialize, spare, nominal working source, and emergency source (batteries, diesel-generators).
Course contents:
Subject brings to students a “complete picture” of the typical wiring of electrical parts of power plants, considering the specifics of production based on various primary energy sources, respectively technology used for transformation. On the beginning the listeners familiarize with basic electrical symbols associated with electrical parts of power plants and there are discussed different types of schemes. In the steps is attention focused of the next main parts: generators (and the outlet of their performance - types, wiring, protecting, cooling and specifications of electric generators, projecting of generator output terminals - dimensioning of wires, bus-duct, prospective inverters for DC or nonsynchronous systems, ect.),block transformers , power stations, invoice measurements and outlets in to the power grid. Next is giving attention to specification and looking for ways to connecting of self-consumption of power plant on different significant - levels of secure power systems ( diesel - generators, batteries, chargers, inverters and accessories), automatic sequential startup after a power failure , etc. Next point is selecting the optimum voltage levels in different types of power plants and on different places in technology Space is devoted to the issue of basic overview of island and hybrid electricity systems too.
