Course contents:
Processors CISC, RISC, architecture of AVR (and ATmega). CPU, ALU, status register. Memory subsystem, memories (SRAM, FLASH, EEPROM), I/O memory. The instruction set of microprocessors, basics of programming in assembler. Types of interruptus, features of interrupt subsystem, RESET. Clock distribution, sleep modes. Memory locks, fuse bits, memory programming. Programming in C language, data memory usage and numeric types, variables, arrays, pointers and strings, constants, constant strings in program space, structures, variable keywords. Macros, functions and interrupt handling, operators, program structure, combining with assembly code. Internal peripherals, EEPROM, Watchdog, parallel ports. Function of counters and timers in microcomputers, modes of operation, PWM. Serial communication interfaces SPI, TWI, USART. A/D converter, comparator. Selected external peripherals (keyboard, display). Features of Arduino platform, basics of C++ programming.
