Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student extends a knowledge of electric circuits and electromagnetic field theory. Attention is focused on systematic analysis of electric networks and numerical modelling of electromagnetic field.
 
Prerequisites and co-requisites: none
 
Course contents:
Extension of knowledge on electromagnetic field obtained within the subjects Electrical engineering 1 and 2.
Systematic analysis of electric circuits - network graph, corectness. Branch voltage method, state variable method.
Systems with distributed parameters, effects on transmission lines. Transmission lines in tgransient state.
Electromagnetic field in various types of environments, interacion of electromagnetic fields with material. Numerical analysis of electromagnetic field - principles, advantages, drawbacks. Finite differences and finite elements method.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures, seminars and laboratory exercises, individual assignments.
 
Assesment methods and criteria: V priebehu semestra budú dve písomné previerky po 10 bodoch a za spracované výsledky experimentálnych cvičení študent získa maximálne 10 bodov. Študent je povinný absolvovať všetky cvičenia podľa rozpisu na aktuálny semester. Záverečná skúška je písomná a skladá sa z teoretických otázok za 25 bodov a príkladov za 45 bodov. Výsledná známka sa stanoví na základe počtu získaných bodov podľa klasifikačnej tabuľky danej Študijným poriadkom STU.
