Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The passing of the considered subject gives the student general systematic overview of basic power electronic theory. The student gest the basic principles and processes about list of power semiconductor converters, single and three phases rectifiers commutation, impulse DC converters, the creation principles of power network having variable values of frequency and voltage consider single and three phases inverters, specific types of semiconductor converters.

 
Prerequisites and co-requisites: none
 
Course contents:
Naturally commutating AC to DC single a three phases (uncontrolled and controlled) converters, DC (first, second, two, four) quadrant choppers, three phase DC to AC Inverter - Switched Mode, a frequency converters, converters controls with Pulse Width Modulation, converters with energy sources and storage - secondary sources.
