Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The subject offer overview about theoretic background for synthesis of parameterized virtual models of mechanisms using theory of structure synthesis with prescribed mobility, modular equations and matrix theory of inverse graphs of structure topology. Synthesis of mechanisms considering flexibility of links in working regimes. Methodology in synthesis of cam and transmission mechanisms. Passive and active counterbalancing of mechanisms. Show how to organize study of influence of change of single parameter (Screening) and more parameters (Design of Experiments) on objective function by virtual experiments, how control of work of solver and optimization algorithms. Goal is to be familiar with simulation methods of synthesis of mechanisms from theoretical and practical point of view.

Course contents:
Analysis and synthesis of multibody systems considering occurrence of singularities, redundancies and passivity of geometric constraints. Creation of parameterized virtual models of mechanisms and interactive control of numeric simulation. Analysis and synthesis of planar mechanisms with goal to position the origin, axes, and both, origin and axes of local coordinate system (LSS) of output link. Application of matrix methods of analysis and synthesis of open, closed, and combined space mechanisms. Passive and active counterbalancing of parameterized mechanisms. Preparation of virtual experiment and application of optimization methods for collocation synthesis of transmission and cam mechanisms. Theoretical background and tools for multi-criterion optimization and robustness of multibody systems. Synthesis of mechanisms from point of view of theory of solution of inventive tasks (TRIZ).
