Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To supply the PhD students with information regarding computer anlysis of metal forming processes by the way of finite element method (FEM). The attention is paid to the basic phenomena of the method and its application for optimizing of metal forming in the stage of product design and production design.
Course contents:
Basics of finite elemnt method (FEM). Plasticity models in metal forming simulation. Numerical models. Finite elemen formulation for metal forming processes. Metal forming process optimizing by application of FEM. Application of FEM for sheet and bulk metal forming processes. Simulation of spring-back,defects and failures. FEM simulation to blank design.
