Assesment methods:
During Semester students will write 2 tests. The sum of points for the test is 20 pionts. To pass the tests should be obtained in the sum at least 10 points. Exam, consisting of written and oral part is rated a maximum of 30 points. On successful completion of the exam should be obtained at least 18 points. Students will get credits for the subject if they successfully complete the written tests and exam. Evaluation is done as follows: A 46-50 points, B 41-45 points, C 37-40 points, D 32-36 points, E 31-28 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Aim of the subject is a basic knowledge of the environment, legislation, monitoring and waste management strategies, and technical information about renewable energy sources. Study design principles of machinery, equipment and complexes for waste management, as well as knowledge of their effective operation. The study of technology, machinery and equipment using renewable energy sources. Solving the fundamental nature of the computing tasks for the specification of suitable machinery and equipment.
Course contents:
Basic terms in environmental, legislation in the environmental field
Primary energy sources
The impact of energy use of fossil fuels on the environment
Renewable energy sources (biomass, wind energy, solar energy, water energy, geothermal energy, ocean energy)
Waste management
Phases of waste recovery, minimization of waste creation, waste treatment, waste recovery and disposal of waste
