Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students know fundamentals of concepts and terminology of advanced separation and identification methods, advanced chromatographic methods and combined techniques, ambient mass spectrometry techniques. Students learn modern identification methods.

Course contents:
Treatment of the sample before analysis
Fast separation and automated systems
Detection in chromatographic techniques
Possibilities of derivatisation and its use
Separation in trace and ultra-trace analysis
Mass spectrometry
Identification of compounds by mass spectra
Interpretation of MS spectra, MS quantification
Identification of compounds by NMR
Possibilities of interferences during identification and determination
Combination of spectroscopic methods for the structure analysis of organic compounds
