Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To obtain the students' knowledge of the basic premises of examination macro and micro economic sociology. Provide them with the answers to problems supporting the social consequences of industrial activity, modernization and automation. Equip knowledge about the course of social processes in industry with emphasis on the micro level (business), and thus prepare them for skilled work subordinates and to address social issues in companies.
 
Course contents:
Macroeconomic sociology - Economic and social development of the modern world. The Industrial Revolution as a historical phenomenon. Modernization and its social consequences. Central and peripheral companies.
Meso - and micro-sociology. F.W. Taylor and his approach to solving human problems in the labor sphere. "Fordism" as a phenomenon of mass production. Importance of views M. Weber's understanding of the nature of bureaucracy. Elton Mayo and his understanding of the sociology of industry.
Microspheres of industry - business and sociological understanding. The structure of company and workgroups. Industrial business as a social system. Formation and beginnings of sociology and business
Work. Socio-psychological aspects of work. Social Work and its conditionality. The social consequences of the division of labor. The division of labor in the history and development of new professions. Culture and the humanisation of work.
Personality of manager and his success. Social and occupational roles of corporate sociologist and social worker sector. Social problems and operation of business.
