Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students receive theoretical knowledge (the control program and its structure, organizational block, organization of memory systems, used data types, coding, and fieldbus protocols ..) and will acquire:
- practical basis for designing and implementing of control programs and systems for industrial programmable logic controllers (hardware configuration stations and modules, parameterization, implementation, simulation and testing, use of data blocks ..)
- communication between the control and controlled systems (PROFIBUS, PROFINET), - visualization of SCADA/HMI panels.
Students will learn programming techniques PLC under standard IEC 61131 (LAD, FBD, STL) and learn to design, implement, test and document PLC software.
 
Course contents:
- International Standard IEC 61131
- Simatic manager environment, STEP7
- Hardware configuration of stations and S7-300 modules
- Organization of memory and communication interfaces
- Control program and its structure
- Programming languages according to IEC 61131-3 (LAD, FBD, STL)
- Structures and programming techniques
- Development of the project, eg.: Design and implementation of the control program and hardware configuration for a specific problem (system)
