Assesment methods:
Over the course of the semester there will be one test for 10 points. Maximum of 15 points can be obtained for the completion of the laboratory assignments and preparing a presentation about the assigned project based on theoretical knowledge and the results of laboratory exercises. For individual project - constructing, circuit parameter measurement and presentation, tasks gave up 15 points. Student must attend all of the laboratory exercises. Maximum of 60 points can be obtained on the written final exam and therefore maximum of 100 points can be obtained over the whole course. Resulting mark based on the number of points obtained by the end of the course is determined by the current study rules.

Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Completing the course the student will understand the principles of transmission and distribution and processing of radio frequency energy. Recognizes the fundamental physical processes that occur in high frequency processes. Recognize the basic features and principles of active and passive high frequency circuits. Acquire basic skills in the analysis and synthesis of passive high-frequency devices such as lines, radiators, hubs, directional couples and signal combiners. They will learn the method of adjustment of the generator and the load. Become familiar with measuring devices used in high-frequency and high-frequency measurement problems.
Course contents:
Elementary fields and waves. Transmission lines. Impedance matching. Waveguides and micro-stripe line. Microwave resonators. Passive circuit elements (n-ports, power dividers, directional couplers, polarizers, circulators). Active components and circuits (electron source, semiconductor sources). Introduction to anennas and propagation. Methods and equipment for measuring electromagnetic fields.
