Assesment methods:
Active participation in labs and excursion. The presentation of experimental results (30%) and the project (30%), according to a specific assignment. The exam (written/spoken) - 40%.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The objective of this course is to give some information about the measurement and evaluation of selected physical, structural, electromagnetic and optical properties of various kinds of materials such as electrically conducting materials, superconductors, amorphous materials, dielectrics, magnetic materials, composite materials, nanomaterials, materials for optical communications and industrial sensor applications, etc.

4. Superconductivity and high-temperature superconductors
5. Dielectrics
6. Magnetic materials
7. Composite materials for high frequency electronics
8. Nanomaterials and amorphous materials
9. Materials for optical communications
10. Optical materials for industrial sensor applications
11. Materials of the future (one-atom-thick nanotubes, smart materials and magnetic liquids, graphene, superlattices, metamaterials and chiral materials)
