Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The course contains special problems of concrete, rather masonry structures directed at dissertation project thesis. Students are lectured general results from scientific grant projects form the department: possibilities of application of new structural materials (high performance concrete, self compacting concrete, fibre concrete, fibre reinforced plastics) and systems (e.g. composite structures, watertight concrete structures), influence of time dependant effect, long term, repeated and dynamic actions on the design of concrete structures. The thesis will be continuously filled in and updated.
Course contents:
• Strength and deformation properties of new structural materials
• Verification of time factor on the modification of structural materials properties
• New structural systems and their contribution to the execution of concrete constructions
• Influence of long term, repeated,dynamic and environmental actions on the reliability of
concrete constructions
• Progressive collapse of constructions, design of robust structures
• Analysis and reliability of punching shear resistivity in flat slabs and foundations
• Analysis and reliability of slender columns
• Composite structures (concrete - steel, concrete - concrete)
• Watertight concrete structures
