Successful completion of State exam and the commissional final thesis defence
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim of the course is to verify the student's ability to solve highly challenging problems in the field of architectural, structural, technical design and also the design of buildings in terms of building physics. Know to analyze challenging architectural constructions and details. Clearly formulate the conclusions of the building physics analysis and apply them in the building design solutions.
 
Course contents:
Final Thesis: architectural and structural design of residential buildings, short term accomodation buildings or public buildings.
Set of drawings is processed at the level of architectural study at the Department of Architecture and at the level of construction drawings at the Department of Building Structures.

A. TEXT PART
Text part is based on the guidelines set by Faculty of Civil Engineering for Final Thesis, extended with an overview of the current state of the problem and the research of the project type.

ARCHITECTURAL PART
site analysis, philosophy and concept of the design, neighbourhood contexts, (scale 1:1000) the architectural site plan, scale (1:500,1:200 ) with draft of the land-use, all floor plans, scale 1:100, ( 1:200 ), including the roof plan, schedule of space name and net floor area (m2), with basic dimensions of the construction system and dimensions of the entire structure, transverse and longitudinal section in the scale 1:100, (1:200) all 4 elevations in black and white graphic with vertical dimensions, rendering, poster in the size 700x1000mm.
CONSTRUCTION PART
1 floor plan in scale 1:50, 1 section scale 1:50, architectural-construction design of selected details in scale 1:10 /1:20/.

TEXT PART
Technical report
Schedule of woodwork, metal work and tin work for typical floor
Schedule of building penetrations for routing of plumbing (water, sewerage, gas, heating)
Thermal performance of building
- Assessment of the building envelope (external walls, roofs and floors) in
terms of thermal resistance,
- Assessment of opening structures in terms of thermal transmittance,
- Assessment of critical details to a minimum internal surface temperature,
- Assessment in terms of energy need for heating
