|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Students will obtain knowledge of plane surveying, measuring technology and the basic methodology of capturing and processing of surveying data. Students will understand the principles of construction the geodetic control, methods for measuring angles, distances and elevations, methodology for maps creation. They will get acquainted with activities of surveyors on sites.|
|Basic terminology. Basis of the error theory. Basis features of surveying instruments.
Angle measurement method. Horizontal and vertical angle measurement.
Distance measurement with tapes, optical and electronic distance meters.
Measurement of elevations. Principle of levelling, trigonometrical levelling, barometric levelling.
Construction of horizontal and vertical control. Stabilization of points. Polar method, intersection, resection, traversing.
Principles of photogrammetry. Exploitation of photogrammetric methods for maps creation.
Setting out of a structure. Dimensional control.
Area and volume calculations.
Laser system and their exploitation in civil engineering.
