|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Obtaining of knowledge of technology, properties and processing of synthetic plastics, composite materials and polymer blends and its applications.|
|1. History of polymers and its applications. Technology of production and properties of polymers (allowance 6hours of lectures)
a. Production of polymers by block, suspension, emulsion and solution polymerization. Production of polymers by polycondenzation and poladition in melt and solution.
b. Rheology of polymers. Principles of the processing of plastics. Mixing processes, extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming, calendering, rotational molding, foaming, welding, fiber spining technology.
2. Principles of technology, processing, properties and application of plastics (allowance 20hours of lecturec)
a. Polyolefins, styrene based polymers, acrylic polymers, poly(vinyl chloride), fluoroplastics,
b. Polyesters, poly(vinyl acetate) and its derivates, polyamides, polyecetals, polyfenylenes
c. Phenolic resins, aminoplastics, polyurethanes, epoxy polymers silicone polymers
d. Composite materials and polymer blends.
