Assesment methods:
State exam verifies complex theoretical knowledge of the student in combination
with practical application of assignments according to the character of individual
parts of the exam. Taking part in the state exam [or exams] is one of the
obligatory conditions of sucessful graduation. The exam certifies the synthesis of
student‘s theoretical and practical knowledge in all key topics of the study
program. The overall outcome of the exam is calculated as arithmetic average of
all results and it follows the official rules of the STU Study Order, article No. 19,
paragraphs 10 and 11.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The result of the exam is proof and confirmation of theoretical knowledge and
practical skills of the student in the field of design, acquired during the studies.
During the exam, the student has to present his knowledge and lead specialized
discussion on profession-related topics.
Course contents:
The theoretical part of the state exam is focused on following:
- verification of design thinking skills and knowledge
- verification of knowledge in the field of art and design history
- verification of the knowledge from the field of product design (construction,
production technologies etc.)
Supplement of the state exam is presentation of all student’s studio projects in
the form of printed portfolio.
