Assesment methods:
Processing a seminar work for each semester from the field of Cartography (15-20 pages).
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students control scientific methods of research and development in the field of cartography. They will acquire the principles of individual and team research work, scientific formulation of challenges and design of their own solutions, will understand and actively participate in the links research - development - operation in the field of cartography and will be ready to develop a study course Geodesy and Cartography.
Course contents:
•mathematical basis of maps, reference surfaces, cartographic distortions,
•tools and methods of map representation with regard to the features, creation of map symbols, a map language,
•creation and processing maps, standardisation and visualisation of the digital images,
•cartographic modeling of reality in the geoinformation systems,
•a digital elevation model, types and forms of relief, georelief and its horizontal and vertical characteristics,
•mapping the landscape features, creation and manipulation with spatial data
•global issues of Cartography
