Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The creation of hygienic and thermo-technical and humid environment in buildings. The aim of the subject is to achieve basic theoretical knowledge of physical parameters of air humidity and work performed during its conditioning. Students learn technical solutions for air conditioning systems and their installations in buildings. The environmental and energy saving aspects are considered, too.
 
Course contents:
- The role of air conditioning in indoor climate creation.
- Physical properties of air humidity.
- Humidity -- calculation of basic properties (psychrometry). Graphical methods (Molier h-x diagram).
- Calculation of heat load in air conditioned spaces.
- Sizing air conditioning systems.
- Low-pressure and high-pressure air conditioning systems.
- Heat recovery.
- Ecological coolants -- classification, basic characteristics.
- Cooling equipment.
- Cooling systems.
