Mode of delivery, planned learning activities and teaching methods:
 tutorial 1 hour weekly / 13 hours per semester of study (on-site method) project/semestral paper 2 hours weekly / 26 hours per semester of study (on-site method)

Individual project solution.

Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Within the subject, the students will gain knowledge about the principles and origin of of vibrations of mechanical systems. They will have knowledge of mathematical modeling and solving discrete and continuous vibrating mechanical systems, their properties and behavior. They will be able to apply knowledge to solve practical problems of vibrations of mechanical systems while being able to implement modifications on real systems resulting in a reduction, resp. elimination of undesirable effects arising from of vibrations.

Course contents:
•Classification of vibrating systems.
•Vibration of mechanical systems-lumped and continuously distributed parameters.
•Matrix models, classification and solution methods for discrete vibrating system-MDOF system.
•Modal analysis of vibrating mechanical systems-overview of methods, mathematical formulation, the eigenvalues​​ problem.
•Vibration of continuous structures. Longitudinal, torsional and bending vibrations of 1D and 2D continuum.
•Finite Element Method of vibrating mechanical systems.
•Vibration isolation.
