Assesment methods:
The certified credit is based on results of continuous assessment. Students may achieve 50 points maximum including the elaboration and presentation of a given project for 20 points and solution of problems in organic synthesis for 30 points. To pass the course successfully, students must achieve at least 28 points and are graded as follows: A 46-50 points, B 41-45 points, C 37-40 points, D 32-36 points, E 28-31 points.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim of object is logically connect all knowledge acquired in the field of organic synthesis. Point out and complete the key aspects of strategy and tactics in the synthesis of organic compounds.
 
Course contents:
The logical connection of particular synthetic methods and their role in strategy and tactics of chiral/achiral organic compounds synthesis is demonstrated on the selected concrete examples. At the same time, the aspect of protection and deprotection using protecting groups, their selection in the synthesis of complicated organic compounds is emphasized. The most important part is a complex view on the synthesis of molecules with utilization of all by now acquired knowledge, suggestion of synthesis and its critical appreciation.
