Learning outcomes of the course unit: | |||||||||||||

The aim of the subject is to continue in second part of Calculus 1, namely in definite integral, and the transformation of knowledge from Calculus I to the basic knowledge from chosen parts of differential and integral calculus of functions of many variables and Fourier series. All the notions of several dimensional calculus are developed from the beginning.
The main parts are: Integration of real function of one real variable, Fourier series, differential and integral calculus of functions of many variables. | |||||||||||||

Course contents: | |||||||||||||

Definite integral. Properties of the definite integral. The fundamental theorem of calculus. Newton-Leibnitz formula. Indefinite integral and integration rules. Substitution method and integration by parts. Integration of rational functions. Fourier series, Fourier Sin and Cosine series, convergence of Fourier series. Functions of several variables, limit, continuity. Differentiability of a function of several variables. Partial derivatives. Total differentials, the gradient, directional derivatives. Extremes of a function of several variables. Integrals over rectangles, integration over region, area and volume. Fubini’s theorem. Double integral. Triple integral. | |||||||||||||
