Assesment methods:
Students have to attend all laboratory exercises. For active performance of laboratory tasks student may obtain max. 15 points and for solution of semestral project max. 15 points. During lectures students have to pass one ongoing written theoretical test for 25 points.Final written exam is for 50 points. Final evaluation of student’s results is given by the number of obtained points in accordance with the current study rules.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Completing the course the students will obtain the ability to evaluate the results of measurements by correct way, to eliminate random and systematic errors rising within measurement process, to estimate measurement result uncertainty, to follow trends in measurement result data and to determine the correction of errors.
 
Course contents:
Introduction – measurement errors, correction, calibration curves, stochastic model of measurement. Measurement result estimation, elimination of outlying results. Uncertainties of measurement results, methods of evaluation, rounding of result data. Methods for evaluation of systematic and random errors. Interpretation of digital measurements, digital evaluation of signal characteristics. Measurement of dependencies, statistical and deterministic dependency, aproximation of dependancies. Interval estimation of parameters, optimalization of substituion of empirical dependency. Process sampling, trend evaluation, data compression. Evaluation of measuring tranducers capability. Possibiliies of transducer imperfections correction.
