Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student acquires needed competences and skills and will cope up-to-date scientific knowledge from the study field "Theoretical Electrical Enginering" that includes also the open scientific problem being a topic of thesis.
 
Course contents:
The course unit contains the following topics of the study field:
- Description, modelling and design of components based on magnetism and magnetic materials.
- Magnetic sensor elements and structures.
- The basics of the electrodynamics of fiber and planar optical waveguides, linear and nonlinear
- The application of optical waveguide electrodynamics to the design and realization of optical fiber sensors with distributed parameters
Special measurement methods for the measurement of optical fiber parameters based on OTDR and its modifications
