Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student has acquired deep knowledge from the chosen field of knowledge in the field of Electronics and Photonics, which includes an open scientific problem which is the subject of dissertation.
 
Course contents:
The contents of the subject is the following topics of the study part of the core of the study branch:
• Selected chapters from physical electronics of substances and structures. Progressive microelectronic, optoelectronic, photonic and sensor structures and elements. Surface, interface and thin layer analysis methods. (Prof. Daniel Donoval, DrSc.)
• Principles, procedures and advanced methods of design, simulation, verification and implementation of mixed integrated circuits and systems on the chip. Test methods for integrated circuits and systems. (Prof. Viera Stopjaková, PhD.)
• Optoelectronics and optical transmission systems. Theory and principles of laser and laser systems. (Prof. František Uherek, PhD.)
• Theory of signals and systems. Methods and systems for signal processing. Modern methods of audio and video signal processing. (doc., Oldřich Ondráček, PhD.)
