Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students learn the basics of parallel and central projection used in several projecting methods as Monge's method, axonometry, projection with elevations and perspective. Students focused on building industry will be familiar with the different surfaces useful in building practice and their geometric properties, they gain the ability to project building structures. Students of the study program Geodesy and cartography will practice projection with elevations applied on given terrain (map of contour lines). They also learn to construct image of the geographical network on a spherical surface and spheroid.
Course contents:
- Parallel projection and affinity. Basic properties of parallel and orthogonal projection.Affine properties of a circle, the ellipse.
- Orthogonal projection in projection methods: Monge's method, Axonometry, Method of contours.
- The topographical surfaces and eartwork.
- Central projection and Linear perspective.
- Surfaces of revolution. Definition and basic notions; quadratic surfaces of revolution; plane sections. Projection of reference surfaces (GAK)
- Application of surfaces in civil engineering (PSA, TMS, VHVS, IKDS).
