Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To get acquainted with advance knowledge and skills of design and simulation of separation processes of multicomponent mixtures in the equipment modelled as a cascade of stages.
 
Course contents:
Advanced procedures of design and process calculations of multicomponent, multistage distillation (including azeotropic, extraction. Rigorous methods for calculations of individual types of separation processes. Solution of separation processes using different software -- spreadsheet, general simulation (Matlab) and chemical engineering process simulation (Aspen Hysys).
