Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The course will provide comprehensive pockets of informations concerning selected topics, which are of relevance for experimental activities in biochemistry and related fields, such as microbiology or biotechnology.
 
Course contents:
The course will be dealt with following topics:

1.Principles of metabolism and its regulations. Measurements in metabolism.
2.Interaction of small ligands wit macromolecules, theoretical aspects and practical use in receptor studies.
3.Techniques for measurement of enzyme activities.
4.Transport processes, their role in biology. Methods for measurements of transport.
5. Small molecules as probes of biochemical processes. Their use in biological and chemical measurements.
6.Synthetic biology - a boundary between chemistry and biology
7.Systems biology and the study of complex systems.
