Assesment methods:
Test in 10th semestral week. Project work out and presentation. The maximum 20 % of total point score is possibe to get during seminars. The exam consists of two parts - written and oral, together 80 % of total point score. The final evaluation: A 92-100%, B 83-91 %, C 74-82 %, D 65-73 %, E 56–64 %, FX 0-55 %.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student is capable to use obtained the knowledge from the field of solid state welding methods, high energy density welding methods (plasma arc, electron beam, laser beam, ion beam, infrared beam), hybrid welding methods, special cutting methods of metal and non-metal materials for design of welding procedure.

b.Advantages of progressive welding methods in comparison to common welding and cutting methods.

2.Solid state welding methods (allowance 10/10)

c.Explosion welding and MPW
d.Diffusion welding
e.Friction welding and MPW

3.Plasma arc welding (allowance 2/2)
4.Welding by concentrated energy sources (allowance 4/4)

5.Thermite welding (allowance 2/2)
6.Progressive methods of thermal cutting (allowance 2/2)
a.Plasma arc cutting
