Assesment methods:
Preliminary assessment test. Elaborate report.
Regular assesment - 2 tests during semester and 5 courseworks with maximal
total score 20 points.
Test - maximal score 50 points.
Examination - total score maximum 30 points.
Final evaluation (assesment) - For A grade minimum 90 points are necessary, for B grade minimum 82 points are necessary, for C grade minimum 74 points are necessary, for D grade minimum 65 points are necessary, for E grade minimum 56 points are necessary.
To continue with examination it is necessary to have minimum 28 points from test.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The students acquire knowledges about theory of plasticity, formability of materials and thermo-mechanical conditions of forming. They acquire theoretical knowledges and practical experience from study of forming processes based on methods of strain and deformation study. They acquire skills during solution of complicated tasks from forming area like calculations of energy and force using differential equations and integral calculus.
 
Course contents:
1.Basic of plastic deformation, mechanisms of plastic deformation, deformation strenghtening and strenghtening curves. 2. Plasticity of materials. 3.Formability of materials. 4.Thermo-mechanical conditions of forming. 5. Thermo-mechanical conditions of forming. 6. Conditions of material plasticity. 7. Resistance during forming. 8. Laws of forming, their significance and application. 9. Methods of strain and deformation study in forming processes. 10. Energy and force at cutting and upsetting. 11. Energy and force at bulk forming. 12. Energy and force at sheet forming. 13. The forming parameters limits and formed parts properties.
