Assesment methods:
Minimum attendance at exercises 75% and lectures 50%. Designing a project by assignment. During the semester there will be two continuous written examinations (each of which is capable of gaining a maximum of 20 points, ie a maximum of 40 points for continuous examinations). The exam consists of a written answer to two theoretical questions (each of which is possible to obtain a maximum of 30 points, ie a maximum of 60 points from the exam). In the assessment, the points from both the part and the exam are counted. A score of at least 92 points is required to score A, score B is at least 83 points, score C is at least 74 points, score D is at least 65 points, and rating E is at least 56 points. Credits will not be awarded to a student who earns less than 56 points; he / she develops at an insufficient professional level or does not fulfill the minimum attendance at lectures or exercises.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student is able to describe the principles of physicochemical processes of burning and extinguishing. He has knowledge of the properties of extinguishing agents and their impact on the environment, their use and the technical means used to transport firefighting substances to a firefighting site.
Course contents:
- Physical-chemical processes of burning and extinguishing.
- Water and water-based firefighters.
- Gases with physical extinguishing mechanism.
- Halonic alternatives.
- Extinguishing powder.
- Special firefighters.
- Technical means for the transport of firefighters to a fire station.
- Impact of extinguishing agents on the environment.
