Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To gain the basic knowledge about methods and applications of gene engineering in agriculture, pharmacy, medicine and food/feed indutry by recombinant microorganisms, plants and animal cells.
Course contents:
1.Preparation of recombinant microorganisms, plants and animal cells
2.Gene engineering of organisms for production of recombinant proteins
3.Agrobiotechnology in food/feed applications
4.Agrobiotechnology in industry
5.Transgene plants for production of insecticides and herbicides
6.Pharming - recombinant proteins from plants
7.Pharming - production of recombinant proteins from animals
8.Isolation and purification of recombinant proteins (bioprocessing)
9.Production of recombinant drugs
10.Gene therapy
11.Forensic gene engineering and archaegenetic
12.Structural bioinformatic
13.Ethic of applications of genetically modified organisms in agriculture, pharmacy and medicine
