Assesment methods:
Student should actively participate on lectures and seminars, prepare and present written report of thesis on selected topic. Student should pass the final exam. Evaluation according to the Study regulations in force.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student acquires basic knowledge on theoretical and applied photochemistry, overview of basic photochemical reactions, acquire knowledge on photochemical reactions in imaging systems, silver halide photography, photodegradation and photostabilization of materials and other photochemical processes important from the point of view of technological applications and environment. Student will be able to utilize these knowledge in analysis and solution of technological problems.

Introduction into photochemistry, properties of light
Electron structure and electronically excited states, laws of photochemistry
Properties of electronically excited states
Basic photochemical reactions
Imaging systems
Light sensitive polymers and their applications
Classical silverhalide photography
Photodegradation and photostabilization of materials
Selected photochemical processes in living systems, nature and environment
Photochemistry of solid state systems, applications
Supramolecular photochemistry, photochemical supramolecular devices
