Assesment methods:
Students prepare and present 2 separate speeches during the semester. The sum of points for the speeches is 30. Students is successfull if they earn at least 16 points. Students also have to pass the written exam. The maximum number of points for the exam is 20 and the students will pass the written exam successfully if they earn at least 10 points. Students will get credits for the course if they successfully pass both, the separate speeches and the written exam. Students are graded as follows: A 46-50 points, B 41-45 points, C 36-40, D 31-35 points, E 26-30 points
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student obtains basic theoretical knowledge of effective communication and presentation skills. He acquires practical skills during preparation and realization of an effective rhetorical presentation. He can effectively use verbal and non-verbal communication tools, and visualization.

Essence and purpose of communication, introduction to the subject of communication
Forms and principles of effective communication
Written and oral communication
Verbal communication – language and auditory speech components
Non-verbal communication – body language
Visualization during a presentation
Effective presentation structure
Effective (post-presentation) discussion principles
Effective expert presentation preparation principles
Successful methods of workplace communication
Specification of conversation with employees, customers, market partners
Stress management
