|Elaboration of two projects on the use of spectral methods for the characterization of inorganic compounds and their successful presentation.|
|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|In laboratory tutorials the student will learn:
a) Measurement of IR spectra of complex compounds by KBr, Nujol and ATR technique.
b)Measurement of Raman spectra of complex compounds.
c)Measurement of electron spectra of complex compounds by Nujol technique as well as in solutions of organic solvents.
d)Measuring the EPR spectra of Cu (II) complexes.
|1. Infrared spectroscopy of coordination compounds. The experimental technique. Methods of measurement and treatment of samples.
2. Raman spectroscopy of coordination compounds. The experimental technique. Methods of measurement and treatment of samples.
3. Molecular spectroscopy in the ultraviolet and visible region. The experimental technique. Methods of measurement and treatment of samples.
4. EPR spectroscopy of inorganic and coordination compounds.
5. The use of tutorials to determine the structure of unknown compounds.
